WATCH: Citi Field Patron Takes Unfortunate On-Camera Tumble
On Saturday, we brought you the not-so-heartwarming story of two fans protesting Arizona’s immigration law by running out on to the field with Mexican flags during a New York Mets-Arizona Diamondbacks game, then getting escorted off to “U-S-A! U-S-A!” chants.
Well, TV cameras didn’t capture that moment (as they always turn away whenever someone runs onto the field), but they did get video of a fan doing something noteworthy at Citi Field that night – only instead of an intensely debated political issue, this one involved a guy comically falling down.
We’ve embedded a video of the incident below, uploaded to Youtube by a user who especially enjoyed the man’s fall. The video refers to the guy taking the fall as “Drunk man,” and while this is tough to verify for sure, watching the video it’s hard to dispute the idea. This fall is a work of slapstick art, and his stumbling around directly before his faceplant supports the “drunk” hypothesis.
“Is that Doc from Back to the Future?” asks the video uploader as the man theatrically dusts himself off and walks away. We doubt the man is actually Christopher Lloyd, but if he’d tossed as many back as his coordination suggests, he could probably use a ride home from Jim Ignatowski.
