Watch The Rays’ Dan Johnson Hit An Insane Game-Tying, Pinch-Hit Home Run Against The Yankees

Holy crap, everyone. The Rays were down 7-0 to the Yankees tonight, the playoff hopes they’d spent the last month building back up from nothing in peril. Then, they exploded in the eighth inning, pulling within a run. Then, down to their last strike in the ninth inning, a pinch-hitter named Dan Johnson did what you see (sort of) above: a game-tying home run that ultimately sent the game into extra innings. Suddenly, the Rays have quite a shot to force a one-game wild card playoff against the Sox tomorrow – if Boston wins tonight. Not a bad last day of the regular season. Or, to put it another way: holy crap.
