“I Don’t Know. That’s Nonsense:” Tony LaRussa Tells A Cute Story About The Busch Stadium Squirrel

The St. Louis Cardinals advanced to the NLCS last night after beating the heavily-favored Philadelphia Phillies 1-0. Despite the series going the full five games, much of the attention has gone to a squirrel, or squirrels, making multiple appearances at Busch Stadium and Citizens Bank Park.

Of course, TBS’ Craig Sager asked Cardinals manager Tony LaRussa about the furry critter during the postgame coverage. LaRussa answered with a story about a “Ms. Squirrley” dating a “Mr. Torty” in the least cutesy way possible, a.k.a. the only way LaRussa knows how to.

For the many of you who may not know, Mr. Torty is Cardinals’ outfielder Allen Craig’s pet tortoise that’s believed to bring good luck to him and the team.
