Watch The Final Out Of Jered Weaver’s No-Hitter Against The Twins

And fittingly, the final out was caught by former Twins’ outfielder Torii Hunter. Alexi Casilla came up as the Twins’ final hope, and although his was the second deep fly ball of the 9th, Hunter made sure it didn’t matter.

The Twins had not been no hit since David Wells famous hungover no-hitter at Yankee Stadium in 1998. Gavin Floyd came the closest, until Joe Mauer broke up his attempt with a double in the 9th inning in 2008. As for the Angels, Ervin Santana threw a no-hitter just last July, so they didn’t have to wait too long to see another one.

It couldn’t have happened to a guy with better hair. Video of the last out below.

Weaver threw 121 pitches, 77 for strikes, induced 13 flyballs and added 9 strikeouts. He was also just one solitary walk away from a perfect game.
