Kansas City Sure Was Pissed At Robinson Cano During The Home Run Derby

Defending Home Run Derby champion Robinson Cano was captain of the American League squad tonight, and he chose Prince Fielder, Mark Trumbo and Jose Bautista as his lumber-mates over Kansas City slugger Billy Butler. That, as Cano found out, was a big mistake, and he would regret it.

Cano was booed mercilessly throughout his time at the plate — the only time cheers were heard was when he tallied an out. He ended up hitting 0 (zero, nil, none) homers. Either he was giving the fans what they wanted on purpose, or the Royals fans really got into his head. Either way, it made for some unusual Derby drama, since most of the time the competition is basically glorified batting practice.

“Don’t say you’re going to give it to Billy and not give it to him.” Let that be a lesson to all of us. The larger lesson is, of course, don’t piss off the home crowd at the All-Star Game. You won’t like it when they’re angry.

Enjoy your 5 minutes of hate kc as well as another last place season you bunch of cow turds. Billy butler wouldn’t even make the yankees lineup he would get maybe one at bat a week. Cano saving his home runs to beat the Triple A royals. It’s easy to be a bandwagon Yankees fan. Anyone can jump on just because they win. To be a Royals fan, means you’re true to your team, despite the awful seasons they’ve had. I love the Royals, always have and always will. …and I have all my teeth. Ca-no-homers should never have publically said he would choose a Royal, if that was never his intention.
