Ozzie Guillen Has Been Suspended Five Games For His Fidel Castro Comments

Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen is scheduled to give a press conference today at 10:30 a.m. in Miami, to again apologize for the disastrous comments he made about Cuban dictator Fidel Castro. But before the presser even took place, the team has announced that Ozzie will be suspended for five games.
Whether the suspension and the presser will temper the anger at Guillen remains to be seen: in an upcoming issue of Time magazine, Guillen is quoted as saying he “loves” Fidel Castro. This would be bad enough on its own, but considering Miami’s heavily Cuban population, it’s akin to saying something nice about Hitler in a town with a heavily Jewish population.
