This is Ann Lux, a former Cowboys cheerleader and soon-to-be-wife of Red Sox upstart Will Middlebrooks. Middlebrooks is filling in at third base for an injured Kevin Youkilis, and he’s done an admirable job: he’s batting .304 with four homers, 13 RBI, nine runs and five doubles since he was called up.

Mariners pitcher Charlie Furbush has… a bit of an unfortunate last name. It’s a last name that probably led to a substantial amount of teasing while he was growing up… and, in the right (wrong?) circumstance, can make him look like he’s wearing a prank jersey.

Stephen Strasburg had a bad start today. He rarely has those, so the rush to find explanations quickly began. Was it the rainy weather? Was it just not Strasburg’s day? Both plausible explanations, but they just don’t measure up to the shock value of Icy Hot to the groin.

On Monday, the son of Angels outfielder Torii Hunter was arrested in the town of Prosper, Texas, on charges of sexual assault of a child. Hunter was one of five students at Prosper High arrested in connection with the alleged assault.
