Video: Roy Halladay Gives Us The Most Badass Quote Of The Baseball Season
A bit ago, Twitter exploded with news from The New York Times‘ Tyler Kepner that Phillies ace Roy Halladay, in his pre-playoffs press conference, said something that seemed so good, it made us long for audio and/or visual evidence so we could hear it for ourselves. At the :20 mark below, Halladay delivers:
“I came here to bury Caesar, not praise him.”
Sure, there was some context to it – he didn’t coldly utter it as a standalone quote while squinting sternly and dressed like Clint Eastwood in The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. In fact, he delivered it pretty nonchalantly. But man, that’s a pretty cool quote to kind of pull out of nowhere.
