WATCH: Roy Halladay Throws No-Hitter In Game 1 Of NLDS

Roy Halladay has thrown a no-hitter against the Cincinnati Reds in game 1 of their NLDS playoff series. It’s Halladay’s second no-hitter of the 2010 season, and the sixth no-hitter of the 2010 season.

Here’s the final at-bat:

The Phillies took Game 1 4-0, but the story of the night was Halladay’s masterpiece.

His stuff was dominating from the get-go, as he made a good Reds’ lineup look diminutive, repeatedly getting ahead of batters early. Halladay only had 3 hitters get to a 3 ball count all night, and the only blemish on an otherwise perfect game was a walk in the 5th inning.

The New York Yankees’ Don Larsen was the last man to throw a no-hitter in postseason play, pitching a perfect game in Game 5 of the 1956 World Series against the Brooklyn Dodgers.

Halladay is the fourth pitcher to throw two no-hitters in the same season. The last was Nolan Ryan, in 1973. Now, Halladay joins them in the record books.
