And Here’s A Moment That Will Melt Your Heart Into So Many Droplets

What kind of moment melts the heart of everyone, every time? Soldiers reuniting with their families, that’s what kind…and it just so happens a particularly good reunion came at a recent minor league baseball game. Darla Harlow, whose husband, Michael, is an Army major, was recently invited to throw out the first pitch at a Mississippi Braves (they’re the Double-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves) game last Friday. Michael, recently returned home from Afghanistan, caught the pitch.

That right there would be a nice story…but what if we threw in the detail that Darla didn’t even know Michael was behind the plate, and only found out as she greeted him? Takes it to a new level, no? Watch:

Darla looked awfully excited to us, but apparently, this reaction was a little tame by her standards: Michael said she fainted the last time he surprised her. (He is really good at this surprise stuff.) Michael’s home for 10 weeks. We hope sooner rather than later, he can be home for good…and somehow find a way to top even this return.
