The Players Of The Mariners’ Double-A Affiliate Were Pumped When King Felix Notched His Perfect Game

Minor league baseball is full of doe-eyed dreamers, players with higher aspirations for a chance at the big time. Of the unfathomable number of souls who have ever cycled through the minor leagues, not 25 have ever thrown a perfect game on the big league level. Still, that doesn’t mean they can’t fantasize about doing it themselves — and when one of the best to ever pitch for their parent club accomplished the feat, the Jackson Generals’ outfield was full of believers.

Give it up for the Generals here. A minor league season is a long season, and Double-A is that tricky purgatory where you’ve conquered A-level ball, but you aren’t ready for that 40-man roster yet and chances are you never will be. But these guys were downright happy when King Felix achieved his feat, which I’m assuming is an emotion that’s hard to come by when you’re team plays in Pringles Park (though I’m sure the Pringles are tasty).

You could’ve mistaken these guys for a little league team, which is just fine.
