Normally it wouldn’t make sense for a Phillies outfielder to tape a message to his glove which reads “Pray for Boston”. But these are not normal times. Philadelphia’s Ben Revere went into Monday night’s game against the Cincinnati Reds with a heavy heart, thinking about the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings. To that end, he fashioned the message on his glove that you see here.
And it all seems kind of meaningless now in the perspective of the day’s tragic events, but Revere proceeded to use that glove to make one of the best catches of the season — or indeed, any season — in the second inning. Got to see this one to believe it, folks. Video here.
