“I’m Single. I’m 30. I Like To Color Coordinate With My Uniforms.”

Saturday’s 3-2 Texas Rangers win over the Detroit Tigers in game one of the ALCS featured two separate rain delays in the top of the fifth inning totaling nearly two hours. Like in any rain delay, the FOX production crew had to find something, anything, to fill the time until the umpires deemed the field playable.

As veteran play-by-play man Joe Buck informed us, they went way down the totem pole, past old sitcom episodes, and chose to air a bit about Rangers starter C.J. Wilson.

See, not only do we know Wilson had a solid season (and has a fondness for cryotherapy), but we also recently became aware of his newly single status after he told Dan Patrick he broke up with swimsuit model Dominique Piek.

So naturally, FOX’s baseball people decided to go with, as Buck put it, “the first ever ‘Hey, I’m the starting pitcher looking for a date’ piece of tape.”

A recap for you ladies out there looking to date a major leaguer:

  1. You have to be “about this tall.” Wilson, who’s listed at 6’1″, pointed right below his ear, so we’ll take an educated guess and say 5’8″,
  2. Know what film noir means,
  3. Be adventurous, and
  4. Like having an overall good time

If you’re a young woman with those characteristics, and are quite attractive (Wilson also told Patrick he has a celebrity crush on actress Olivia Wilde), hit him up on Twitter.

As for FOX, as long as we don’t get any more Friends reruns, we’re totally cool with you pimping ballplayers.
