Worse Idea: Wearing LeBron Heat Jersey To Cleveland Game, Or Dating Guy Who Did?

Meet Matt Bellamy and his girlfriend, Wendy. The couple attended the Cleveland Indians game on Wednesday night with Matt wearing the slap-to-the-face-of-Ohio special, aka a Lebron James Miami Heat jersey. Wendy, appropriately, was dressed in Cleveland Indians attire.

The two were soon thereafter escorted from the game by police as a mob chased them, serenaded by “asshole” chants and and on the receiving end of thrown beers and debris. This, it turns out, is the punishment delegated to Lebron sympathizers in the city that James abandoned.

Well, Matt, you got your attention and made your point. But, what about you, Wendy? What did you get out of this embarrassing scene?

Hopefully, you realized that dating a guy who wears a jersey, any jersey, is a bad idea. I’m a firm believer that there should be an age cap on boys who wear jerseys. But when the jersey being worn has nothing to do with the event in progress? This is clearly a sign of some sort of personality disorder.

(Wendy, you can keep wearing your jersey, because girls will always look hot in them.)

You claim that you told Matt not to wear the Lebron jersey to the game, but that he wore it anyway. Wendy, a guy that needs attention and fame to feel complete is another red flag.

Matt, you can wear whatever you want wherever you want, but recognize the consequences. Wendy, Matt is not worth your time – a jersey is sometimes a sign of immaturity, and is always a sign of crazy when it’s of a team not playing that night. Drop the jersey and go find a real man.

Great article Heather. A couple of things, if you’re an adult male and still wearing a jersey, at least wear that thing sans undershirt. I know Matt is doing his best to channel Steve Blake, but that exacerbates the douchedom.

Then again, and I hate to sound trite Heather, since I like your blogger page and this is a nice article, but the whole “tomboy” thing seems unnecessary. You write about sports, so we don’t need a reminder that you’re a guys girl with the ubiquitous tomboy label. It just sounds like someone striving to be PJ Franklin from “My Boys.”

    You’re better than that.

As bad as what Matt did you have to admit that it was pretty funny and that it does take some balls to do so maybe he should be commended for it.

Incredible article Heather!!!…Spencer is just confused with his own sexuality…don’t worry about him. Keep up the great work!!!

Fantastic article Heather. What Matt did showed signs of immaturity and he should have known what would happen. After lebron left, Cleveland was left with nothing and all fans needed something to rip on.
