Four Men Are Accused Of Riding Around In A Limo And Jumping People Around Wrigley Field
Seems like the four guys pictured at left let life imitate art a little too much here. We know some rappers love to go on about beating people up, cavorting around with “trifling hoes” and other various cool rapper activities, but that doesn’t mean you do it for your music video.
In Wrigleyville, Chicago, the area home to the Cubs’ Wrigley Field, four men were arrested after they allegedly beat up five people on the street while filming a music video for a rap song. The attackers reportedly were cruising around in a white limo when they jumped out to assault the victims at 1:10 a.m.
Five men were injured in the 1:10 a.m. clash — including a 27-year-old man who suffered a broken jaw when he was punched in the face and an off-duty Chicago Police officer who was knocked down, authorities said.
Now there’s a second side to the story. While all four men had prior convictions of some sort, and some of the men were on parole, relatives say they only engaged the men on the street after racial slurs were directed toward the limp. One family member said they were “defending themselves.”
“He was defending himself, that’s what all of them were doing,” said Lillian Nichols, whose son, 31-year-old Edward Robinson, was one of those arrested. “It was just like a brawl, but they were the only ones arrested.”
[...]
“Who goes around in a limo with the intent of jumping on someone? It doesn’t make sense,” said Kelly Smith, Robinson’s brother.
Well, I’m going to have to agree with one thing there: going around and jumping out of a limo to attack people doesn’t make sense, at all. Interested to see where this story goes, but I’m going to assume the accusers (one of whom was an off-duty cop) didn’t fabricate a story about getting jumped by four dudes riding around in a limo.
And just one more thing. The men were claiming to have been filming a “celebration video” for a song called “Take A Sip.” In what way, shape, or form does riding around in a limo and (allegedly) jumping random dudes characterize “taking a sip”?
