Anthony Davidson’s Car Went Airborne And Slammed Into The Wall At Le Mans

Today in the fifth hour of the 24-hour race at Le Mans, Anthony Davidson’s Toyota was nudged by Piergiuseppe Perazzini’s Ferrari. Davidson subsequently spun out, flipped through the air and violently crashed into the tire wall. Somehow neither driver sustained any serious injuries. Check out the video below:

After Anthony Davidson got out of the Toyota, he checked to see if his car was in condition to make it back to the pits. Despite the airborne sideways 360° flip, the Toyota landed on its wheels and was not nearly so badly damaged as the Ferrari.

Only later did we learn that he had injured his back.

Compared to some of the accidents last year, this year’s race was remarkably free of serious crashes.
