FOX Cuts To Audio Of Jimmie Johnson’s Crew Chief, Who Promptly Drops An F-Bomb For The World To Hear

Yesterday’s Coca-Cola 600 did not end well for Jimmie Johnson. While he stayed with the pack for most of the race, eventually his No. 48 car Chevy would give out with five laps to go. He’d be forced to leave his home track in a cloud of engine smoke.

Johnson’s team was (understandably) upset. FOX producers, always on the lookout for a human interest angle, thought that this would be a good time to cut to live audio from Johnson’s crew chief, Chad Knaus. Knaus rewarded them with a very swift and very audible F bomb.

Nothing like some impromptu on-air profanity to honor our troops. And this was the good kind of TV F-bomb: quick, clear, and with a sheepish announcer left to apologize to the TV audience. America!

Here they go again!  Chad Knaus Show!  Why are these two treated like the other 98% are?  Daytona and now Charlotte–one was enough-two are TOO many!  Deliver the shocking reality to them so they know it will no longer be accepted!!!

Why is this nowhere online on any news service, nor is it on NASCAR.com, I guess if you win you can say or do anything and fet away with it…

You say America like we’re the only country where on air profanity is heard. But most countries are actually very liberal about what is allowed on air unlike the “think of the children” attitude that guide American S&P policies.

This was totally FOX’s fault. Why wasn’t the seven second delay used to block the F-bomb?  I listen to the drivers scanners every week and it’s not at all unusual to hear the word.  There is a disclaimer by NASCAR every week that the use of a scanner is intended for individuals over the age of 17.  It was FOX who decided to broadcast the radio conversation.  Hope the FCC fines FOX.

Junior made about the same statement on his PRIVATE CHANNEL radio when he ran out of gas – Network should have had delay in place if they were going to listen in.  Get Over It People
