That Was Fast: Danica Patrick And Jimmie Johnson Crash At The Daytona 500 After… Two Laps
Well, it didn’t take long for us to see the first crash of this evening’s Daytona 500. This is what you get when you push the race to primetime, I suppose. In the second lap, the first lady of NASCAR, Danica Patrick, got into a wreck with five-time Cup Series champ Jimmie Johnson.
It’s funny because you have think that with the race being moved to tonight, due to multiple rain delays on Sunday, the drivers must have been excited to reach an audience who was probably tuning in to see House, and who might have stuck around to see just how our protagonist, Dr. Gregory House, would solve the conundrum of the race car driver with who can only survive on speed — or something like that. Unfortunately for Patrick and Johnson, they didn’t get much of a chance to showcase their talents under the lights.
Naturally, this will eventually lead someone to make a stupid comment like, “What do you expect from a woman driver?” Wait, what?
