Is There Really Going To Be A NASCAR-Themed Show Called Tits In The Pits?
If Talladega Nights showed us one thing, it’s that NASCAR — scripted and made for the big or small screen — has the potential to make for a winning formula.
According to New York magazine, the screenwriters who brought us this summer’s Friends With Benefits have pitched a pilot for an original drama series about the first woman to ever own her own NASCAR team, and her ensuing struggle to secure corporate sponsors from Madison Avenue after she’s jilted by her famous driver ex-husband.
The questionably-titled Tits in the Pits (an allusion to a NASCAR maxim that some will get, but most, inevitably, will not) is being described by insiders as a “red state Mad Men.”
We’re not exactly sure what a show centered around men who work in advertising and smoke lots of cigarettes has in common with a scorned woman attempting to break into the NASCAR industry to get back at her ex-husband, but for what it’s worth, Starz Media is reportedly very interested.
