The 2011-12 Charlotte Bobcats Highlight Video: The Saddest Highlight Video Ever?

Hey, remember how bad the Charlotte Bobcats were this past season? One of the worst teams in sports history? 7-59? Lowest winning percentage ever in the NBA? Lost 23 straight to end the season? An average point differential of -13.9 – nearly twice as bad as the next-worst team in the league? Well, if you’d started to forget, this week the NBA provided an (unintentional) reminder: a highlight reel of the Bobcats’ 10 best plays from this past season.

The NBA, of course, is doing this for every team, so they couldn’t just pretend the Bobcats’ season didn’t exist (though it was probably tempting). The result: 10 plays that, while sometimes impressive and sometimes providing Bobcats fans a bit of hope for the future when Kemba Walker and Bismack Biyombo are involved, don’t constitute the most impressive highlight reel out there… and yes, the majority of them happened in Bobcats losses:

Note that poor Kris Humphries was victimized in both the #10 and #9 plays. Even when facing off against the possible worst NBA team ever, the guy can’t catch a break. Then again, given his numbers last year, one could make a strong case that, had he been a Bobcat, he would have been the best player on the team. Who’s laughing now? The answer, as it generally was during the season: “Everyone is laughing. At the Bobcats.”
