This Is What Amar’e Stoudemire’s Hand Looks Like Post-Punch
Ever since Amar’e Stoudemire’s fateful punch of the glass casing around a fire extinguisher following the Knicks’ Game 2 loss to the Heat earlier this week, there’s been speculation as to both the punch’s effect on the Knicks, and the severity of the injury. And according to one report, it looked really, really bad. While we’ll never know what it looked like at the time, though, thanks to a picture Stoudemire posted earlier, we know what it looks like now:

And… wow. Ouch. Ouch. There’s not a whole lot else to say except that looks really painful, and makes us understand the “half of his hand was just hanging off” account a little bit more. But Stoudemire notes it could have been even worse:
A millimeter away from my nerve. Thanks to the Most High I’m still able to heal an[d] recover.
Of course, we’re glad Stoudemire sounds like he’ll be okay, and we’ve all done things in the heat of the moment we’ve regretted later. But Amar’e: please, please don’t punch things, because that is scary stuff.
