Ron Artest Metta World Peace Now Friends With The Guy Who Threw A Drink At Him During “Malice In The Palace”

It’s been over seven years since members of the Indiana Pacers went into the stands to beat the crap out of Detroit Pistons fans in the Palace of Auburn Hills, and apparently, that’s enough time for Ron Artest Metta World Whatever and the guy that threw a soda at him to get over their differences.

Earlier this week, World Peace was on ESPN Los Angeles radio, when John Green, the man who threw the drink at Artest (hey, he was Artest when it happened) over seven years ago called in. Green revealed that he and World Peace are now friends, and working together to reach out with those who have issues similar to their’s.

What Ron’s doing, and what we’re talking about doing together, is getting out and reaching out to people that have similar issues as we do and talking about it, because that’s what it’s all about. It’s getting over the hurdles in life and getting past them and using what we’ve done as a mistake.

Other interesting things we learned from the radio hit include that the beverage Green threw was Diet Coke, and Artest was lying on the scorer’s table because of advice his therapist had given him.

It’s actually pretty cool that this man and World Peace can get over their differences and an ugly incident to help other people in need. By the way, this is definitely the gray area of referring to Artest as World Peace or Artest or whatever. When the incident occurred, his name was Artest. When they became “friends,” he was still Artest. Now, he’s Metta World Peace. Confusion reigns when you try to figure out what Ron Artest’s name was at any given moment in time.
