And Just Like That, A Backup Point Guard Embarrasses Two Of The Best Players In The NBA

Even the most casual NBA fan may not be familiar with Celtics second-year point guard Avery Bradley. Really, why should they? He plays behind Rajon Rondo, one of the league’s premiere point guards, and only gets about 16 minutes of action nightly. However, with Rondo suspended for two games, Bradley is getting a chance to show off his skill. And, wouldn’t you know, tonight he’s doing a mighty fine job of making the best of the moment.

First, Bradley wowed the crowd by throwing down a pretty nasty dunk on one of the game’s greats, Kevin Durant. It’s not often that Durant gets embarrassed like that. He’s typically the one pushing the tail between the legs of his opponents. Not this time, though. Point goes to Bradley. Watch:

Next up, Russell Westbrook got his turn to meet Bradley, when early in the 3rd quarter he put the hammer on Westbrook, blocking him from behind. He went at it so hard that the ball got caught in between the rim and the backboard. That allowed just enough time for Bradley to puff up his chest.

Hats off to you, Mr. Bradley. Win or lose, the night belongs to you, as far as we’re concerned.

The dunk was cool.  The block was  boring.  Go to any High School game and you’ll see someone get blocked from behind.
