Baron Davis’ Knee Injury Was Brutal

Yet another devastating knee injury has taken an important player off the court during the NBA playoffs. For the Knicks, it will be their second guard of the first round: Baron Davis twisted his knee in a very unnatural way while planting hard on his right leg, and had to be carted off on a stretcher.
As Mike Breen says, you might want to look away if you’re squeamish. But you’ve come this far, so you might as well take a look:
Ouch, ouch, ouch. The rash of horrible injuries continue to plague the playoffs, and even though it’s an older guy like Davis, you have to wonder what is causing such a trend.
The timing could not have been worse: the Knicks were in the middle of a huge run to take back control of the game. For now, Mike Bibby (and probably Carmelo Anthony) will have to work overtime on the point. If they don’t play well, the Knicks will be done for the year.
[Update: The official word from the Knicks is a dislocated patella]
