Did Bill Walker Mess Up This Perfectly Awesome Moment Between Carmelo Anthony And Trayvon Martin’s Family?

With the family of slain teen Trayvon Martin in town, Carmelo Anthony wanted to do something special. So he brought Trayvon’s mother and brother into the Knicks locker room for autographs and photos, and most importantly a welcomed break from the incredible whirlwind their lives have become. It was a great moment — and Bill Walker photobombed the hell out of it.

Bill — who, by all accounts, is a good dude who was probably being respectful and kind to the family — is in almost every photo taken of the Martins meeting Melo. Just… standing there. (Photos via GlobalGrind.)

If I’m one of the Martins, I’m probably ecstatic to meet Carmelo Anthony. And I’m also wondering, “Who is this dude over here staring at us? Is that the towel boy?” It looks like he’s there to broker peace between the two sides, or he can’t figure out a good excuse to leave the group he’s standing with at the party.

With the rest of the team in attendance, Melo signed autographs and delivered what sounded like a beautiful tribute to Trayvon and his family. The Martins ended up leaving before the game to avoid the media hassle. Or perhaps they wanted to get away from creepy Bill Walker. Will we ever know the truth?
