An Unnamed Brooklyn Nets Player (Andray Blatche) Was Questioned By Police For Sexual Assault (UPDATED)

The Brooklyn Nets are in Philadelphia to play the 76ers tonight, and are staying at the Four Seasons Hotel in Center City. Sometime last night, a 21-year-old woman reported that she was sexually assaulted inside the hotel, and an unknown Brooklyn Nets player along with his “associates” have been taken in for questioning by the Special Victims Unit.
Here’s what we know thus far (via CBS Philly):
“According to sources, a 21-year-old female filed a complaint alleging that she was sexually assaulted inside the Four Seasons Hotel in Center City at about 4 a.m. Tuesday.
The female complainant was taken to an area hospital for an examination. Investigators are waiting to question the woman before any decision will be made on potential charges.”
We’re still awaiting the identity of the Nets player, but we’ll update as soon as more information becomes available.
UPDATE (12:38 p.m.): Three men, according to NBC Philadelphia, one of whom is a Brooklyn Net, were taken into custody for questioning by police. The Brooklyn Net was inside the hotel suite, but not the bedroom, in which the assault occurred. The other two men are 25 and 41 years old.
But based on this tweet, we believe the Brooklyn Net has identified himself:
Im ok and I didn’t do anything jus was n the area when it happened
— andray blatche (@drayblatche) January 8, 2013
And further confirmation:
Police source tells me Andray Blatche of the Nets was questioned in connection with an alleged sexual assault at the Four Seasons.

But then there’s this tweet, from Dana DiFilippo, a crime reporter for the Philadelphia Daily News, saying that multiple players were taken into custody.
Busy morning: Sources say Brooklyn Nets players being questioned in alleged rape at Four Seasons hotel overnight.
— Dana DiFilippo (@DanaDiFilippo) January 8, 2013
Of course that could be a stray “s” on “players,” so we’ll let you know as soon as we can get confirmation. But if this final tweet is in fact true, than Blatche may not have been in the room after all.
We’ll sort of the details as soon as we can.
UPDATE (3:23): According to the New York Times:
“Blatche is not being accused of any wrongdoing, but he was in the suite in which the incident occurred, the police said.
‘From all accounts, he was not personally involved in any kind of assault or anything like that,’ Police Commissioner Charles H. Ramsey said Tuesday afternoon. He added, ‘He was there but he was not involved.’”
Three men and three women, including Blatche, were in the hotel room together where the alleged assault happened. A heavily intoxicated 21-year-old woman claimed she had consensual sex with one man, but nonconsensual sex with another. A rape kit was ordered by investigators after she was taken to the hospital at 4:00 a.m.
The other two men were not a part of the Nets delegation in town for tonight’s game, and Blatche should be available to play. So it appears that Blatche, according to Ramsey, “was in the wrong place at the wrong time.”
