Dirk Nowitzki Joined The Avett Brothers On Stage Last Night, Played The Tambourine
An odd concert cameo for most NBA stars, but for whatever reason indie rock doesn’t seem off for Nowitzki. If he showed up at a Lil Wayne shindig, then we’d have a real story on our hands.
Hipster Dirk took in the concert like a true fan. Instead of dawdling quietly in the corner, he climbed on stage, grabbed a tambourine and joined the Avett Brothers in a song called “Sally’s Lover.” And based on the picture above, he seemed to enjoy the limelight. You’d think NBA championships would evoke similar unbridled enthusiasm, but apparently not. We’re just glad Dirk could indulge his lighter side, even if he stood out as a big hipster among, uh, smaller hipsters.
