Dwight Howard Playing Ping Pong In China Will Remind You Of Back When Everyone Didn’t Hate Him
Hey, remember when people didn’t hate Dwight Howard? Doesn’t seem like so long ago, does it? Bet people really would’ve eaten up a video like this back in those days. Howard on a trip to China, playing some ping-pong with some strangers, going all Forrest Gump on us? “Look at that fun-loving big guy!” we’d all have said. (Well, maybe someone would have still commented on his accent.)
But no longer. All it takes is one interminable “trade me” saga, and no one wants anything to do with you anymore. Now people will watch and assume he’s just putting on that big smile for the cameras, even if he’s not. They’ll assume everything about Howard is phony – until that moment if and when he wins a title with the Lakers. If the Summer of LeBron has taught us anything, it’s that if winning doesn’t cure all public perception ills, it goes a long-ass way toward that end. Someday, Howard may be loved again. Until then, he’s that dick who screwed the Magic over, no matter how much fun those people had playing ping-pong against him.
