Gloria James Arrest: Sorel Rockfeller Claims He Was Slapped By LeBron’s Mom

Gloria James, mom of LeBron James, was arrested early this morning by Miami Beach police after she reportedly slapped a valet named Sorel Rockfeller. Since LeBron is a) one of the most famous athletes on the planet, and b) a favorite object of internet scorn, this has obviously created quite the commotion.

According to TMZ, which obtained a police report of the incident, Gloria James slapped a hotel valet so hard in the face, she lost her balance and fell to the ground (James fell to the ground, not the valet). When police showed up to question her, she was not cooperative, and “had a strong odor of alcohol on her breath and her eyes were bloodshot,” according to the AP.

The valet claims he got Gloria’s car and put it in the valet ramp. But when James and her driver stood in front of the hotel talking to people for 30 minutes, the valet turned the car off and got out. Then this happened:

The valet says Gloria then approached him and stated, “Where are my f**king keys and continued yelling profanities at the victim.”

The report explains, “Then for no apparent reason the arrestee struck the victim with an open had [sic] across the right side of his face  and in the process causing herself to lose her balance and falling to the ground.”

Well, then. LeBron, for his part, sent over Miami Heat executive Steve Stowe to pick his mom up. Of course, since this is Lebron, and nothing he does is right, he will be relentlessly made fun of for not picking up Gloria James himself. Expect this story to get progressively more out of hand as the day continues.
