Clipper Curse? Blake Griffin Injures Knee, May Be Done For Olympics

While Blake Griffin’s career can be characterized as electric and exciting, it began with the 6-foot-10 power forward missing an entire season after breaking his left kneecap. Well, today news came out of USA Basketball camp that Griffin injured that same left knee when he “twisted it” during practice on Wednesday.

Anthony Davis has been called to Las Vegas, while the severity of Griffin’s injury is currently unknown. Still, it is worth noting the injury was sustained on the same knee Griffin had injured back in 2010. But early indications are that Davis will replace Griffin on the USA’s squad, making Davis the team’s youngest player.

Griffin’s injury also comes after the Clippers announced they re-signed the power forward to a five-year, $95 million extension. Griffin is one of the most high-flying and likeable players in the entire league, and we hope for his sake this is a minor injury and nothing more.
