Here’s How LeBron James’ Head Is Turned Into Artwork

LeBron James is now a piece of art.

An artist, NFN Kalyan, etched the image of James’ face on 22 layers of glass. The result is a 200-pound, three-dimensional image of James. It’s as if he’s looking back at you in the mirror.

The artwork took five months. Each layer of glass has a different section of James’ head, each layer was hand-drawn, and then etched with a laser.

Why did Kalyan choose James for his piece? Kalyan said:

The Decision was what really solidified in my mind to do LeBron, but I’ve been thinking about it beforehand. The amount of pressure that he must have been feeling coming out of high school, going to the pros, and him being able to live up to it was something I think is under-appreciated… For me, his whole career has been clutch considering the focus that’s been on him.

So ultimately, something good came out of The Decision.
