J.R. Smith’s Ridiculous Reverse Double Clutch Jam Could Be The Next “The Dunk”

This was just too good. J.R. Smith set the Garden on fire with this insane throw down. It was so good, you’d have to go back nearly two decades to find something comparable for Knicks fans. Unfortunately for the Knicks this wasn’t an 18-point dunk, because they lost by 17.
‘
Ironically, after Smith set the place on fire, the Heat put out the flames pretty quickly and thoroughly. But for a moment, J.R. Smith was a Knick hero, and all seemed right in the world of New York basketball.
In fact, I haven’t seen a New York Knick playoff dunk that could light up the building like that in a long time. It brought back memories of another Knicks shooting guard who took it into the teeth of a much more powerful foe, back in 1993. That was John Starks and “The Dunk.”
In both cases, the dunk sadly means little, as the Knicks will likely be 0-2 in series in which they have fantastic posterizations.
