Twelve year NBA veteran and still-not-retired-though-currently-unemployed-backup-center, Jason Collins, will be joining Michelle Obama and Jill Biden at the State of the Union address tonight in a showing of solidarity with the civil rights struggle of the gay community as the administration advocates for marriage equality. He’ll be joined by Carlos Arredondo and Jeff Bauman, who were famously photographed in the immediate aftermath of the Boston Marathon bombing.
Collins was the first active professional American athlete to come out as openly gay. He bought this tie from TieTheKnot.org, which apparently is a marriage equality tie purveyor. You learn something new everyday, right guys?
