Javaris Crittenton Will Turn Himself In, And His Lawyer Says He’s Innocent

The sad saga involving the tragic shooting death of a young woman and the alleged involvement of former NBA player Javaris Crittenton is about to take an important step. Fresh off the release of an official “WANTED” poster labeling Crittenton as “armed and dangerous,” Crittenton’s lawyer Brian Steel says his client will arrive in Atlanta tomorrow morning and turn himself in. There’s much more to come, however, as Steel says Crittenton will fight the shooting charge:
“Mr. Crittenton wants to clear his name. He’s innocent of the charges.”
Earlier today, the FBI charged Crittenton with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution (he’s currently in the Los Angeles area). At the least, tomorrow’s surrender will bring to an end the portion of the case where everything was entirely up in the air – save for the awful reality of a 22-year-old mother’s death. This Crittenton ordeal is far, far from over, but at least we’re about to be that much closer to closure.
