Washington Wizards Fans, Do Yourselves A Favor And Watch This John Wall Alley-Oop Over And Over
Try as they might, it would be very difficult for Wizards fans (and the Wizards team) to take anything positive from the 103-65 drubbing the Knicks put on the D.C. crew last night. There was little effort, and even the moments of inspired basketball were squandered by poor execution. But hey, Wiz fans, John Wall had a sweet alley-oop in the third quarter. So, that’s cool.
Although Wall has been dealt the crappy hand that is playing for the Wizards, he occasionally is able to break out and showcase the skills that made him number one overall draft pick. This is one of those times.
Wall dunking over Davis is especially poignant when you realize, as announcer Mike Breen notes, that Davis used to be the high-flyer. But at least Davis was dunking and winning, like when he led the Golden State Warriors over the Dallas Mavericks in a first round upset in 2007. So far, Wall has only been able to dunk. You have to hope that a player with his skills will one day be allowed to use them when it really matters — before, as with Davis, it is too late.
