Celtics’ Kevin Garnett Leaves Game With Leg Injury After Dunk (Video)
Going into tonight’s Celtics-Pistons matchup, the most noteworthy aspect of the game was that it pitted the Celtics’ Kevin Garnett against the Pistons’ Charlie Villanueva, who accused Garnett of calling him a “cancer patient” (Villanueva has no hair on his body due to the condition alopecia universalis). Well, the main storyline of this game involves Garnett, too, but this time it’s not about name-calling.
No, this is about something that’s become a familiar issue for Garnett in recent years – injuries. Going up for a dunk early in tonight’s game, Garnett suffered a leg injury and had to leave immediately. Early X-rays were negative, though, so Garnett may not be out for too long. It goes without saying that the Celtics desperately hope this is the case.
Video of the play above. While the consequences of Garnett’s injury don’t look as bad as initially feared, one has to imagine the Celtics are still holding their breath while awaiting the results of Garnett’s MRI in Boston tomorrow.
