LeBron James Heroically Dunks On Small Children (Video)

LeBron James kicked off his annual basketball camp over the weekend in San Diego, in which he teaches youngsters how to be king (“Choosing Your Costumed Waiters 101″ is always a popular class). He usually holds the camp in Akron, but for some strange reason decided to move it this year.

There are two videos here, one of LeBron courageously warming up to the local Action News Team’s theme music, the other of him heroically dominating lesser life forms. Some of those lesser life forms are actually small children, and at one point (2:35 mark in the video) he almost crashes into a little kid while trying to score on a put back (triple doubles, whether in the NBA or playing with first-graders, are still triple doubles).

In all seriousness though, dominating little kids in sports is possibly the guiltiest pleasure there is – just ask Bart Scott, who routinely rejects his young son’s shots into the street. I can remember taking my little sister out to play basketball one day when she was about nine years old, which is the age where it takes literally all of their strength to put the ball in the hoop from two feet away.

Anyway, she’s doing her adorable little layups in the basket next to mine. As she’s getting ready to shoot again, I full-on sprint from 25 yards away, get to her just as she’s shooting and swat her shot into next week. I even let out a Kevin Garnettesque roar on the way down. No easy buckets, not in this house (I’m not a total monster by the way. I knew my sister would think this performance was very funny. The pack of middle-aged women walking by the park, though? Horrified).

Anyway, here’s some footage of the action. And by “action,” we mean LeBron dominating like he’s a very competitive camp counselor.
