This Is What It Sounds Like When LeBron James Dunks. Hint: It Sounds Violent.
Often forgotten in this new Blake Griffin-era of high-flying, power dunks is the sound and fury of a one LeBron James. Who, at one point, was good for a nightly “OMG” dunk. Now, though, in this Griffin world we live in, his power throw downs seem to be few and far between. At least by the standards we at one point were accustomed to.
Tonight, however, against the Milwaukee Bucks, LeBron split a few defenders as he drove down the lane and threw down what had to be the loudest dunk of the 2011-12 season. It literally sounded like he was beating on a drum. When in fact, he was just beating up on the rim.
It’s good to see the LeBron breaking rims and taking names. I mean, we can’t simply expect Griffin to continue to carry the load from one night to the next.
