LeBron James’ Q Score Down Significantly Since “The Decision”

LeBron James‘ popularity among fans has significantly and quantifiably decreased since his decision to sign with the Miami Heat, according to Darren Rovell. Rovell and CNBC got their hands on the newest results from the Q Score company, which polls the general population and gauges their attitudes on athletes.

Here’s what they found: The average Q score for an athlete is a 15 percent positive score and a 24 percent negative score. In January of 2010, LeBron James scored 24 percent positive and 22 percent negative. This was “the highest [they] had ever seen.”

LeBron’s score now? 14 percent positive (down 41.6 percent), 39 percent negative (a 77 percent increase). This makes him the sixth most-disliked athlete, behind Michael Vick, Tiger Woods, Terrell Owens, Chad Ochocinco and Kobe Bryant.

LeBron’s new teammates have also taken a hit.

Dwyane Wade’s positive Q score went from 21 in January to 15 today. His negative Q score rose from 18 in January to 25 today. Chris Bosh – whose move to Miami was part of what sealed the deal for LeBron – saw even a worse drop. His positive Q score only fell from a 13 in January to a 12 today, but his negative Q Score rose from 21 percent in January to 35 percent today.

We already knew everyone hates LeBron. Now, we have a spreadsheet that proves it.
