Maria Sharapova and Sasha Vujacic Are Not Getting Married, Sasha Vujacic Is Officially Irrelevant

Not that this was particularly juicy tabloid fodder, but here ya go. The couple was engaged and planning on getting married on November 10th of this year, until, well, they weren’t.

We’re sad to see them go, especially because now we have no reason to talk about Sasha Vujacic. But maybe Maria just couldn’t take his non-fame, since she’s the one that actually cut ties.

“Maria Sharapova has called off her engagement to basketball player Sasha Vujacic.
The 25-year-old tennis ace told reporters at the U.S. Open on Friday the pair ended their relationship in the spring.

At her postmatch news conference – following a 6-1, 6-1 victory over NCAA runner-up Mallory Burdette to reach the fourth round – four-time Grand Slam champion Sharapova said matter-of-factly: ‘I was waiting for someone to actually ask me that question, but nobody did, directly.’”

An impressive feat, keeping this one out of the papers for so long. But not being asked directly is no excuse. Be a man. Be 40. Because he brings the paper to us, not the other way around.

We can all go back to our regularly scheduled lives now.
