Mikhail Prokhorov and Jay-Z Put Up Billboard Specifically To Piss Off Knicks
Mikhail Prokhorov and Jay-Z are currently, as in right this very second, in the process of putting up a billboard across from Madison Square Garden that reads “Shots Fired.” Whoops, I mean, “Blueprint For Greatness.”
The battle for the hearts and minds of New York basketball fans has begun.
Prokhorov has made no bones about his wish to turn Knicks fans into Nets fans, and if basketball allegiances were determined by the internet popularity of the ownership, NYC would be a Nets town. Prokhorov is a star in the making, and Jay-Z is an icon within the city.
Here are two other awesome tidbits about the “Takeover” of billboards: 1) its location was chosen specifically so it could be seen from the MSG offices at 34th and 8th, 2) It’s scheduled to be completed right before 11:59 PM tonight. And we all know what happens when the clock strikes twelve.
Seriously, who doesn’t love Prokhorov at this point? He’s been every part the crazy Russian billionaire we wanted and more.
