You Don’t Have Enough Money To Attend Nets-Knicks On Opening Night

Have tickets to the Brooklyn Nets’ opening night game against the Knicks at Barclays?
You do?
What are you, some type of billionaire, bro?
First of all, just to get into the building, it’s going to run you $225. That’s the lowest price currently being offered on the secondary market, up from $188 on October 1st. As a frame of reference, last April’s Knicks-Nets game in Newark sported a lowest price of $42.
If you want courtside seats, prepare to cough up $8,100 on sites like StubHub — probably more at this point, since I’m guessing those prices increased since the time I started writing this post. Normally, those same courtside seats go for $1,500.
According to the Post, these are the most overpriced most in-demand New York sports tickets since the Yankees’ 2009 World Series run and That Other Basketball Thing That Happened.
It even surpasses the $675.43 ticket average Madison Square Garden saw for a Knicks-Mavericks game in February, when Jeremy Lin was still a Knick and “Linsanity” reached its peak.
I’m going to tell you right now: save up for tickets in January, when the Nets are a middle-of-the-pack Eastern Conference team. Unless Beyonce has another baby at this game, and that baby performs a two-hour set with guest appearances from Ghostface Killah and Burt Bacharach, and that baby then starts giving away free cars, these tickets are not worth it.
