Oof: Rajon Rondo Airballs A Fastbreak Layup Against The Heat

Talk about embarrassing. Rajon Rondo might want this one back. Early in the 3rd quarter of tonight’s game between the Boston Celtics and the Miami Heat, Rondo (who by most estimations is going to have a great year) got out on a fastbreak and, instead of finishing at the rim as expected, somehow managed… whatever this was.

Rondo obviously saw Dwyane Wade coming out of the corner of his eye. You can see him do almost a windmill type of pump fake to guard the ball from a chase-down block, but that extra move was probably what made Rondo throw up the air ball. Watch:

Shake it off and move on, Rondo. That’s the best bit of advice I can give you, as someone who’s airballed enough layups in my day.
