Someone Forgot To Tell The Miami Herald That The Heat Lost Last Night
Some Miami Heat fans might be in denial following their NBA Finals loss. Their hometown paper definitely is.
The Miami Herald ran a Macy’s ad in today’s paper that not only congratulated the Heat on a championship that they never won, but showcased a collection of Heat championship gear, including hats and t-shirts, that no one will ever wear.
Aside from the fact that, you know, the Heat didn’t win, what’s more baffling about this poorly placed ad is that, thanks to the 3-2 lead that the Dallas Mavericks took into Game 6, the Heat wouldn’t even have had the opportunity to win the championship until Tuesday night’s hypothetical Game 7. Thus, The Miami Herald has had since the conclusion of Thursday night’s Game 5 to prevent this thing from running.
The only possible explanation? This ad was exclusive to editions of The Miami Herald being distributed in Third World countries.
UPDATE: The Herald has run a correction.
