Fantastic Comic Sums Up Difference Between Spurs And Clippers
The San Antonio Spurs are known as one of the more cerebral teams in basketball, and they’ve achieved their status as thinking men thanks to the franchise’s two most visible figures: head coach and master tactician Gregg Popovich, and superstar power forward and introspective stargazer Tim Duncan.
Their current Western Conference Playoff opponents, the Los Angeles Clippers, are a different story. Known more for their flash than their brains, the Clippers are led by coach Vinny Del Negro, who openly concedes that he’s no Gregg Popovich. Second in command is Chris Paul, LA’s brilliant floor general and the guy who you kind of think should be coaching the team sometimes. Throw in high-flying youngsters Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan, and you’ve got the opposite of the plodding Spurs.
We’ll let illustrator J.O. Applegate sum up the difference. Check out more of his stuff at Bounce Bounce Bounce.
