Going Into the Weekend: These 5,000 Awesome Thunder Fans Greeting The Team At The Airport

When the Oklahoma City Thunder returned home Friday afternoon, they were greeted by nearly 5,000 fans at Will Rogers World Airport where their plane touched down. What has long been a college town, OKC has very spirited fans, who have thus far been loyal to their Thunder.

Kevin Duran’t notorious backpack makes a prominant reappearance. Royal Ivey also is wearing some sort of pink-strapped backpack.

Just overall a nice showing by the fans, and probably a sour moment made sweeter for the players.

The US Census reported Tuesday (06/19) thta Oklahoma ranked 47th in the country with regard to per-pupil spending in the State’s public schools. Even right-wingers who claim that per-pupil spending doesn’t always correlate with educational outcomes would have to be alarmed by such an announcement. So it makers sense to see people whose least favorite way to use their free time would be to read a book or watch “Nova” on PBS would crowd an airport to greet a group of men who play a game for a living wearing uniforms that display a city where they DON’T live. (BTW, I live near Bostonand wouldn’t walk around the corner to greet a WINNING so-called Boston team either).
