Here’s How The Thunder Wrapped Up Their First Ever NBA Finals Berth

After being down as much as 18 points, the Thunder came storming back in the second half to put away the Spurs for good, 107-99. And though it was basically wrapped up with under a minute to go, Kevin Durant’s long-distance bounce pass for a stadium-shaking Kendrick Perkins dunk was the capper.

There must be no better feeling for Thunder fans than seeing their team win Game 6 on their home floor. Except for, of course, seeing them win the NBA Finals on said floor — but they haven’t gotten that chance yet. Getting to celebrate with the team, complete with the star player hugging his family in the front row, is perhaps the best thing about sports.

Watch as the Thunder sounded the Spurs’ death knell, and began a new era as the best team in the Western Conference, below:

Thank you for your wonderful coverage of the Thunder (and James Harden’s beard). No matter what happens in the next round, they have represented Oklahoma so very well, both on and off the court. I speak for many Oklahomans when I say we are so very proud of our team!

Sure their “first” if you ignore the SuperSonics

    You’re welcome!
