WATCH: Nate Robinson Says ‘No Homo,’ He and Big Baby Are ‘Shrek and Donkey’

“If I slobber, snot, spit — please excuse me. Kids don’t do that. Have manners and things like that.”

This quote, from Glen Davis, was just one of the amusing, endearing, and stand-up lines offered last night during the joint press conference between the forward and Celtics’ guard Nate Robinson, whose on the mic chemistry as a pair yesterday was so strong that it almost convinced us of Nate Robinson’s claim that the two are “like Shrek and Donkey — best friends.”

But amidst the light-hearted hilarity last night, as always, there was a big “whoops” moment, which came just a few seconds earlier when Nate Robinson, responding to the same Rachel Nichols’ question about Big Baby’s big-baby-like drooling moment, said:

“Slobber, yea.  I tried to wipe–no homo–I tried to wipe it up.”

*Smacks self in forehead*

As entertaining as Nate Robinson is and as harmless as that epithet may seem to some people due to its somewhat widespread and popularized use (this video will explain it all to you), we have to say: Nate, you cannot be saying that on national television.

Like Big Baby said, Kids don’t do that.

What is even more jarring than Nate’s verbal error, however, is the fact that no one seemed to take note of it even occurring.  In fact, a few of the aforementioned hilarious quotes–including the Shrek and Donkey quote–were offered after Nate’s ‘no-homo’ remark; the conference just proceeded.  Business as usual.

Yes, we are pretty sure that Nate meant nothing by this.  But just as Jalen Rose urged players to ‘tweet responsible’ a few days ago, we are urging the same players to ‘speak responsible.’

Here is the video of the conference:
