All The President’s Picks: Barack Obama’s Bracket One Of The Best In The Country

As you may know, Barack Obama caught a lot of flack for filling out an NCAA tournament bracket this year. FOX News was particularly tough on the President, dedicating a sizable portion of airtime on Wednesday to criticizing him for spending a few minutes with ESPN, a whiteboard, and a black Sharpie.

One thing no one can argue, though, is how creepily precise his picks have been. After two full days of tournament action, he has correctly predicted 29 out of 32 games. This would be a very high success rate for someone who analyzes college hoops for a living, let alone someone who’s trying to get aid to Japan, dealing with a deteriorating situation in Libya, and trying to come up with a way to fund the U.S government.

He would almost certainly lead your office pool, because he almost leads the entire country. Out of nearly six million brackets entered on ESPN.com, his ranks 492nd. That would put him in the 100th percentile for all fans.

While Obama was criticized for how conservative some of his predictions were (he has all four number one seeds making the Final Four), it was an upset that really helped him in the early part of the tournament: he picked 12th-seeded Richmond over 5th-seeded Vanderbilt.

With everything Obama has on his plate right now, you’d be hard-pressed to find someone who would trade places with him. One thing most Americans would happily trade with him, however, is his bracket.

Point is that if he showed the same interest in actually leading the country maybe things would be different, given his knowledge of individual players and stats, it is appearent that he is paying attention to college hoops, yet uses scheduling conflicts as excuses to not make important policy statements regarding a world on fire… the man is no leader, but he sure can make a good speech.

Call me crazy, but I’d rather have a president who can make a solid NCAA bracket while dealing with Libya and Japan than a president who chokes on a pretzel while watching the super bowl while his administration conspires to start an unnecessary war.

Congratulations Barry, your first real triumph of your pathetic Presidency. However, inquiring minds want to know how your doing on the Womens bracket.

I’ll just call you a Democrat. Because only a blinded partisan could refer to a 5-day trip to Rio while going to war against Libya, fighting a nuclear meltdown in Japan, and a tanking economy crippled by unemployment as “dealing”.

    He’s sucked since day one.

Unlike some GOP presidents, e,g. Ford and Bush 2, President Obama is definitely capable of chewing gum and walking simultaneously.

You’re saying he shouldn’t go on diplomatic missions to Brazil?

I’m sure you were making these same complaints during President Bush’s 1020 vacation days (most in presidential history), many of which were undertaken during one of his two recessions, in the aftermath of 9/11, during the war in Afghanistan, during the anthrax attacks, during the war in Iraq, during or after the crisis in Katrina, etc.
