Jeff Van Gundy Will Take His Random Comments To College Basketball During The NBA Lockout

Here at SportsGrid we’ve done our best to bring you some humor during the NBA lockout. Whether it’s Danny Granger putting construction of his own personal batcave on hold, Kevin Durant playing flag football with some college students, or Benny the Bull leading a flash mob, we’ve made sure our lockout stories don’t delve into such boring topics as revenue sharing or the luxury tax.

ESPN, who’s NBA announcers are presumably doing little more than twiddling their thumps right now, apparently wants to provide us with some more fodder.

One of Bristol’s main analysts, and noted Alonzo Mourning leg huger, Jeff Van Gundy, will call a few college games this fall to keep himself busy.

College basketball purists will likely complain when Van Gundy’s comments come off as uninformed or too quirky. Instead of bemoaning the World Wide Leader’s decision, though, we’ll take this opportunity to showcase some of his greatest hits and hope the foray into collegiate hoops gives us a few more memorable moments.

Congratulations on taking s a few clips of JVG trying to insert humor during a telecast and attempting to pin him down as someone who doesn’t provide meaningful commentary as an NBA analyst. Hopefully, your readers have a mind of their own…because your labeling of him is dead wrong.
